Topic: Understanding the importance of digital citizenship

Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will understand the importance of being a good digital citizen and will be able to demonstrate this through their actions.

Materials

  • Laptop or tablet for each student
  • Examples of good and bad online behavior (e.g. videos, articles, etc.)

Warm-up

  • Show the students a video or article of a person behaving in a bad way online. Ask them to list the behaviors they see and why they think the person behaved this way.

  • Have the students work in pairs to complete a task or activity related to digital citizenship, such as creating a poster or comic strip that teaches others how to behave online.
