Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to identify and name the parts of a plant and explain how the different parts of the plant are essential for its growth.

Materials

• A potted plant (optional)
• Chart paper and markers
• Picture cards with pictures of plant parts (e.g. leaves, stems, roots, flowers)

Warm-up

• Show the students a picture of a plant and ask them to name the parts they can see.
• Encourage them to use their observations to describe the different parts of the plant they see.

Direct Instruction
