Topic: Counting and sequencing to 10

Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to name and identify numbers from 1-10.
  • Students will be able to count and sequence up to 10.

Materials

  • Card with numbers 1-10 written on it
  • Card with counting cards from 1-10 (optional)

Warm-up

  • Show the students the card with numbers 1-10 written on it and ask them to name the numbers out loud.
  • Next, have the students count out the counting cards from 1-10, asking them to say the number out loud as they count.

Direct Instruction

  • Introduce the concept of numbers to the students, explaining that numbers are used to represent how many objects there are.
  • Show the students the cards with numbers 1-10 written on them and ask them to name the numbers out loud.
