Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

• Calculator

Warm-up

• Ask students to think about a math problem they have recently encountered that uses pemdas. Have them share their problem and their solution with a partner.
• Next, display a problem that uses pemdas and ask students to solve it using the pemdas principles they have just reviewed.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the acronym pemdas and explain that it stands for:
• P: Parentheses
