Objectives & Outcomes

• By the end of this lesson, students will be able to understand the main events and characteristics of Jesus' life and understand what it means to follow Jesus.

Materials

• Pictures of Jesus' life (birth, baptism, crucifixion, resurrection)
• Handouts with information about Jesus' life and teachings
• Art materials for each student (e.g. construction paper, scissors, glue, markers)

Warm-up

• Show the students a picture of Jesus and ask them to share what they know about Him.
• Write their answers on the board and discuss as a class.

Direct Instruction

• Ask the students what they know about the life of Jesus.
• Use the Bible and other resources to help them learn about Jesus and His life.
• Explain the importance of Jesus in our lives and the Church.

Guided Practice

• Divide the class into small groups.
• Give each group a piece of paper and a pencil.
• Ask them to draw a picture of Jesus and write a sentence about Him.
• Have each group share their drawings and sentences with the class.
• Explain to the students the importance of Jesus in our lives and the Church.

Independent Practice

• Ask the students to draw a picture of Jesus in their notebooks.
• Ask them to write a sentence about Jesus in their notebooks.
• Have the students work on their projects individually or in small groups for a few minutes.
• Ask the students to put their notebooks away and come to the front of the class.
