Topic: How music is used in Native American tribes

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to explain how music is used in Native American tribes and identify the purposes for which it is used.

Materials

• Access to a computer with internet access
• Access to a library or other information source
• Handouts with information about Native American tribes and their music

Warm-up

• Begin the lesson by asking students if they have any prior knowledge about music and its role in Native American tribes.

Direct Instruction
