Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

Warm-up

• Ask students to name some colors they like. Write their answers on the board.
• Ask students if they know how to select a specific color in Adobe Photoshop.
• Let a few volunteers share their methods.

Direct Instruction

• Open Adobe Photoshop and create a new document.
• Using the eyedropper tool, select a color from the warm-up activity.
• Demonstrate how to use the RGB and HSV sliders to adjust the color.
• Explain the purpose of the RGB and HSV sliders and why they are useful.
• Demonstrate how to copy and paste color using the color picker.

Guided Practice

• Using a warm-up color, have students use the color picker to copy and paste it into a new document.
• Have students use the RGB and HSV sliders to adjust the color as needed.
• Then, have students use the pen or pencil tool to create an artistic interpretation of the color they chose.
