Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to define desktop publishing and identify basic types of desktop publishing.

Materials

• Images of different types of desktop publishing (e.g. brochures, greeting cards, postcards)
• Pen and paper for each student

Warm-up

• Ask students if they have ever seen or used desktop publishing before.
• Ask them to name the types of desktop publishing they have seen or used.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the concept of desktop publishing and explain that it is the process of creating printed materials using a computer and a printer.
• Discuss the various types of desktop publishing, including text-only, mixed media, and full-color.
