Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to define parliamentary procedure and explain its purpose and uses.

Materials

  • Whiteboard or chalkboard
  • Colored markers or chalk
  • Handout with example scenarios of parliamentary procedure (one per student)

Warm-up

  • Have students sit in a circle.
  • Ask them to think of a time when they were part of a group discussion or meeting where things were unclear or disorganized.
  • Have them share their experiences with the class, discussing how the group was able to reach a resolution or come to a decision.

Direct Instruction

  • Ask students to share their resolutions and discuss the outcomes.
