Topic: Digital Sticker Design

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to create a digital sticker using software tools for a popular company.

Materials

• Computer with access to digital software tools such as Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop
• Examples of stickers for a popular company

Warm-up

• Have students brainstorm a list of popular companies that might have stickers.
• Ask students to share their ideas and explain why they think the company might have stickers.
• Encourage students to think about the purpose of stickers (for example, for merchandising, advertising, or collecting) and how they might design a sticker for a particular company.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the concept of digital sticker design and its potential uses.
• Show students examples of different types of stickers (e.g. emoji stickers, character stickers, weather stickers) and discuss their intended purposes and design considerations.
• Explain the process of creating a digital sticker, including selecting a background image, placing and editing elements, and exporting the design for printing.

Guided Practice

• Have students work in small groups to create a digital sticker using a pre-designated background image and three chosen elements.
• Assist students as needed and provide feedback on their design choices.

Independent Practice

• Have students choose a popular company or brand and create a digital sticker using the techniques learned in class.
• Encourage students to be creative and think outside the box when choosing their elements and background image.

Closure

• Have students share their digital stickers with the class and discuss what they like about each one.
• Review the techniques used in creating digital stickers and ask students to share anything they found challenging or interesting.

Assessment

• Collect and grade the digital stickers created by students as independent practice.
• Ask students to reflect on their experience creating their digital stickers and what they learned about the software and the process of creating digital stickers.
