Topic: The male reproductive system

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will understand the structure and functions of the male reproductive system.

Materials

• Diagram of the male reproductive system
• Artist's rendering of the male reproductive system
• Handouts with information about the male reproductive system
• Pencils and paper for taking notes

Warm-up

• Have students stretch their bodies and do some light exercise to get energized and ready to learn.
• Ask them to share their knowledge about the male reproductive system. How well do they already know about it? What questions do they have?Introduction
• Give a brief overview of the topic and the objectives for the lesson.
• Ask the students to briefly share what they already know about the male reproductive system.

The Male Reproductive System

• Begin by showing a diagram or model of the male reproductive system.
• Explain the functions of each organ and structure, and give examples of how they work together to produce sperm and testosterone and to facilitate reproduction.
• Use the handouts to provide more detailed information on the individual components of the male reproductive system.
• As you go through the lesson, encourage the students to ask questions and make sure they understand the material.

Guided Practice
