Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify the seasons in the Philippines and explain the relationship between the seasons and the position of the Sun in the sky.

Materials

  • Pictures or videos of the seasons in the Philippines (spring, summer, fall, winter)
  • Handouts with information about the seasons in the Philippines

Warm-up

  • Have students draw a picture of the Sun in the sky at different times of the day and different times of the year.
  • Ask students to share their drawings and explain the relationship between the Sun and the seasons.

Direct Instruction

  • Show students a globe or a map of the Philippines.
  • Ask students to identify the different seasons in the Philippines and the corresponding position of the Sun in the sky.
  • Explain that the position of the Sun in the sky depends on the latitude of the place and the angle of the Earth's axis relative to the Sun.
