Self Knowledge Lesson Plan for 7th Grade Example Students

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to define self-knowledge and provide examples of it.

Materials

• Whiteboard or blackboard
• Markers or chalk
• Handout with definitions and examples of self-knowledge

Warm-up

• Ask students what they think self-knowledge is and give examples of it. Write their answers on the whiteboard.
• Ask students if they feel that self-knowledge is important and why.

Direct Instruction

• Explain that self-knowledge is the understanding and awareness of oneself and one's characteristics and qualities.
• Discuss the importance of self-knowledge, explaining that it can help us make better decisions, improve our relationships with others, and achieve our goals.
• Use the handout to provide examples of different characteristics and attitudes and have students name them.

Guided Practice

• Divide the class into small groups and give each group a set of characteristics, attitudes, and qualities to identify and discuss.
• Encourage the students to share their thoughts and insights and ask questions.

Independent Practice

• Project-based: Have students work in small groups to create a visual representation of the concept of self-knowledge. This could be a poster, a short video, or a skit.
• Encourage students to be creative and think critically about the topic as they plan and execute their project.

Closure

• Have each group present their project to the class.
• Ask students to reflect on what they learned about self-knowledge and how they can apply it to their own lives.

Assessment

• Observe students during independent practice and during the group presentations to assess their understanding of the concept of self-knowledge and their ability to apply it in their own lives. Collect and grade the written reflection papers for comprehension and evidence of understanding.
