Materials

• Textbook
• Constitution of India

Warm-up

• Ask students to share their prior knowledge about the constitution of India.
• As a class, discuss the importance of the constitution of India.
• Write the word 'constitution' on the board and ask students to give their interpretations of the word.

Direct Instruction

• Explain that the constitution is the supreme law of the land, and it is the foundation on which the country is governed.
• Explain that the constitution is made up of a collection of documents, including the Preamble, which is a statement of the country's fundamental principles and aims, and the articles, which are a list of the rights and responsibilities of the citizens and the government.
