Topic: Write a story-picture observations

Objectives & Outcomes

• By observing pictures and picture related phrases table,match each phrase with suitable picture and write a story.

Materials

• Pictures and phrase table
• Writing materials (pen/pencil/paper)

Warm-up

• Ask students to look at the picture and describe what they see.
• Encourage students to use phrases from the table to describe the picture.
• Ask students to share their descriptions with peers and reach a consensus on a suitable title for the picture.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the picture and phrase table to the students.
• Explain that the purpose of the activity is to write a story based on the picture and the phrases.
• Demonstrate how to match a phrase with a picture and write a short sentence to accompany the phrase.
• Encourage students to practice matching phrases with pictures and writing sentences.

Guided Practice

• Provide students with a set of pictures and phrases and ask them to work in pairs to match the phrases with the pictures and write a story.
• Walk around the room and provide assistance as needed.
• Allow time for students to share their stories with the class.

Independent Practice
