Topic:Writing a formal report

Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to write a formal report following the standard structure and format.

Materials

  • Blank paper
  • Pencils
  • Errands for writing the report (e.g. pictures, quotes, charts, etc.)
  • Formal report template

Warm-up

  • Ask students if they have ever written a report before. What kind of report was it?
  • Ask students to share their experiences and provide examples of what to include in a report.

Direct Instruction

  • Introduce the concept of a report and explain why it is important.
  • Explain the different parts of a report (Introduction, Body, Conclusion).
  • Demonstrate how to write a basic introduction, body, and conclusion using a sample report.
