Topic: Identify and name Daily Routines

Objectives & Outcomes

  • By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to identify and name four Daily Routines: getting up, eating breakfast, going to school, and going to sleep.

Materials

  • Pictures of a child getting up, eating breakfast, going to school, and going to sleep
  • Chart paper and markers

Warm-up

  • Ask the students if they know what a Daily Routine is.
  • Ask for examples of Daily Routines that they follow at home.
  • Write their responses on the chart paper.

Direct Instruction

  • Explain that Daily Routines are the things that we do every day in a certain order.
  • Ask the students to think about their Daily Routines and write them on the chart paper.
  • Encourage them to include both morning and evening routines.

Guided Practice

  • Point to each routine on the chart paper and have the students name it.
  • Have the students demonstrate the order of their routines by placing the items in order on the table or floor.

Independent Practice

  • Have the students create a "Routine Book" by cutting out pictures of each routine from magazines or newspapers and gluing them onto a page in their notebooks.
  • Have the students write the name of each routine below its picture.

Closure

  • Review the different daily routines with the students.
  • Ask the students to share one thing they enjoy about each routine.

Assessment

  • Observe the students as they complete each activity and provide feedback.
  • Collect and review the students' written work to assess their understanding of the different daily routines.
