Topic: Comprehension and Production of Explanatory Texts

Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

  • Explanatory and descriptive texts
  • Pen and paper for writing

Warm-up

  • Show the students a few explanatory texts and a few descriptive texts and ask them to identify which is which.
  • Ask the students to share what they notice about the texts they have chosen.

Direct Instruction

  • Introduce the terms "explanatory" and "descriptive" and give examples of each type of text.
