  • Give the students some more examples of collective nouns and have them try to figure out what the plural form of the word is.
  • Review the list of collective nouns and discuss the meaning of each word.

Guided Practice:

  • Give each student a set of papers with pictures of groups of objects cut out.
  • Have the students classify the pictures into groups that have the same noun ending, such as "-s," "-ment," or "-ery."
  • Have the students write the plural form of the collective noun on the back of the picture.
  • Review all of the answers as a class.

Independent Practice

  • Have the students work in pairs to create a short skit or a story using collective nouns.
  • Have the students share their skits or stories with the class.
