Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

• Handout with photos of common lab tools and safety equipment
• Handout with lab safety rules and guidelines
• Demonstration of lab tools and safety equipment

Warm-up

• Ask students if they have ever visited a science lab at school or at a museum.
• Ask them to share their experience and what they remember seeing in the lab.
• Write their responses on the board.
• Ask them if they know what the tools and safety equipment in the lab are used for.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the students to the common lab tools, such as beakers, pipettes, and test tubes.
