Materials

• Images or videos of sports or games that demonstrate safety precautions
• Handouts with safety guidelines for different sports or games

Warm-up

• Ask students to describe their favorite sport or game.
• Ask them to share any safety guidelines that they know for the sport or game they mentioned.

Direct Instruction

• Explain that safety is important whenever we are playing a sport or game.
• Show pictures or demonstrations of proper safety precautions for the sport or game the students mentioned.
• Ask students to share any additional safety guidelines that they know for the sport or game.

Guided Practice

• Divide students into pairs or small groups.
• Give each group a set of pictures or demonstrations of proper safety precautions for the sport or game.
• Have students work together to arrange the pictures or demonstrations in the order that they should be taken while playing the game or sport.

Independent Practice

• Have students choose a sport or game to focus on for their project.
• Have students create a poster or presentation to teach their peers about safety precautions for the chosen sport or game.
• Encourage students to be creative and use their own words to explain the safety precautions rather than just using the pictures from the guided practice.

Closure
