Topic: Write a lesson plane about holidays

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will understand the importance of spending quality time with family and friends during holidays.

Materials

• Whiteboard and markers
• Images of holidays (e.g. Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas tree, Easter eggs)

Warm-up

• Introduce the topic of holidays and ask students what they know about them.
• Ask students to share their favorite holiday and why they like it.

Direct Instruction

• Explain that holidays are special days or weeks set aside to celebrate and honor special people, events, or occasions.
• Tell students that there are many different holidays around the world, and that they all have their own traditions and customs.
• Show students pictures of different holidays and ask them to describe what they see.
• As a class, brainstorm a list of holidays and their associated dates.

Guided Practice
