Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to identify the causes of fear of failure and understand the importance of facing their fears.

Materials

• Pictures of people demonstrating fear of failure (e.g. person afraid to give a presentation, person afraid to try a new sport)
• Pencils and paper for each student
• Overcoming fear of failure worksheet (see below)

Warm-up

• Have students sit in a circle and pass a ball around. When a student catches the ball, they must say something they are afraid to do or try.
• Continue until all students have shared an example of something they are afraid to do or try.
