Objectives & Outcomes

  • By the end of this lesson, students will be able to spell all the words listed on the board using the spelling rules from class.

Materials

  • List of words to be spelled
  • Whiteboard and markers

Warm-up

  • Ask students if they know how to spell any words.
  • Have them whisper the words to the teacher one at a time.
  • As a class, brainstorm a list of words that could be spelled using the spelling rules learned in class.

Direct Instruction

  • Introduce the spelling rule that will be focused on in class (e.g. "y" after "e" except after "i" makes the sound "ee").
