Topic: How children's lives were different in the Stone age, Iron Age and Bronze age

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to describe the differences in the lives of children in the Stone age, Iron Age and Bronze age.

Materials

• Pictures of children from different periods of history (Stone age, Iron Age, Bronze age)
• Chart paper and markers

Warm-up

• Ask the students to close their eyes and imagine what life would be like if they lived in the Stone age, Iron Age or Bronze age.
• Write their ideas on the chart paper.
• Discuss the different aspects of life that the students mentioned and ask them to elaborate on their ideas.

Direct Instruction

• Show the students pictures or illustrations of Stone age, Iron Age and Bronze age children and discuss what they can learn about the way these children lived.
• Ask the students to share their ideas with the class.

Guided Practice

• Have the students work in pairs to draw or paint a picture of a child from one of the time periods.
• Ask the students to include in their drawings or paintings what they have learned about the way children lived in that time period.

Independent Practice

• Have the students choose one of the time periods (Stone age, Iron Age, or Bronze age) and research life in that time period.
• Ask the students to create a poster or presentation to share what they have learned with the class.

Closure

• Review the main points of the lesson with the students.
• Ask the students to share any questions or thoughts they have about the different ways that children lived in different time periods.

Assessment

• Observe the students during independent practice to assess their understanding of the different ways that children lived in the Stone age, Iron Age and Bronze age.
• Collect and review the students' reports for understanding of the main points of the lesson and their ability to compare and contrast the children's lives in the different time periods.
