Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

  • A native speaker
  • A given topic for the conversation (e.g. school, family, weather, etc.)
  • A list of basic conversational questions for the given topic (e.g. "What school do you go to?", "How many brothers and sisters do you have?", "What's the weather like today?", etc.)

Warm-up

  • Begin the lesson by asking the students if they have ever talked to a native speaker before.
  • Ask the students to share their experiences and how they felt during the conversations.
  • Explain to the students that in this lesson, they will learn how to have an interactive communicative conversation with a native speaker.

Direct Instruction

  • Introduce the topic of the conversation, for example, traveling.
