Objectives & Outcomes

• By the end of this lesson, students will be able to create and design a simple desktop publisher project using Microsoft Word.

Materials

• Computer with Microsoft Word installed
• Images or other multimedia content
• Basic knowledge of computer keyboard shortcuts

Warm-up

• Ask students if they have ever used a desktop publisher before.
• Ask them to describe the process of creating a desktop publisher project.
• Write their answers on the board.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the name of the software being used for the lesson (e.g. Microsoft Word).
• Explain that this software is used for creating professional-looking documents, such as newsletters, flyers, and brochures.
• Show students how to open a new document and choose a template to use as a starting point for their project.
• Demonstrate how to choose and customize fonts, colors, and layout options.
• Explain the difference between desktop publishing software and word processing software.
