Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

  • A variety of representative pieces of music from various genres
  • Pen and paper for each student

Warm-up

  • Ask students to close their eyes and imagine themselves at a festive celebration, such as a wedding or a holiday party. Ask them to listen carefully and write down any sounds they hear, such as music, people talking, or clinking glasses.
  • Once students have finished writing down their thoughts, discuss their observations and ask them to share any interesting discoveries they made.

Direct Instruction
