Topic: Smile

Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will understand the importance of smiling and will be able to show a genuine smile.

Materials

  • Picture of a tiger
  • Pencils and paper for each student
  • A list of adjectives for the teacher to review (e.g. happy, glad, excited, joyful, delighted, pleased, contented, satisfied)

Warm-up

  • Ask the students to think of a time when they were happy or excited.
  • Have them share their experiences with the class.

Presentation

  • Show the students the picture of the tiger and ask them if they think the tiger looks happy or sad.

  • Have the groups share their ideas with the class and discuss how they could help the tiger find his smile again.

Independent Practice:

  • Give each student a piece of paper and a pen. Ask them to think about a time when they have lost their smile and then write a short narrative story about how they found their smile again.
  • Encourage students to use illustrations or cartoon characters to add visuals to their stories.

Closure:

  • Ask students to share their stories with the class and explain how they found their smile again.
