Topic: Numbers 1-20

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to identify the numbers from 1 to 20.

Materials

• Numbers from 1 to 20 printed on cards or flashcards
• Whiteboard and markers

Warm-up

• Ask students if they know what numbers are.
• Ask them to give examples of numbers they know, such as 5, 8, 10, etc.

Direct Instruction

• Show the numbers 1 to 20 on the board and have students repeat them after you.
• Ask students to give examples of how they use numbers in their daily lives, such as counting, ordering food at a restaurant, or reading a clock.

Guided Practice

• Have students work in pairs and give each pair a set of flash cards with the numbers 1 to 20 written on them.
• Have students take turns showing a flash card to their partner and naming the number.
• Encourage students to help each other if they are unsure of the answer.

Independent Practice

• Have students use crayons, markers, or pencils to color in the numbers 1 through 20 on a printable flash card activity.
• Encourage students to check their work and correct any mistakes they may have made.

Closure

• Review the numbers 1 through 20 with the students and ask them to point to each one as you say it.
• Ask the students to say the numbers out loud and then repeat them in order from 1 to 20.

Assessment

• Observe the students as they work on the worksheet and listen for them to say the numbers correctly.
• Check the students' answers on the worksheet to see if they were able to correctly identify all of the numbers.
