Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify and use adjectives and opposites in their writing and speaking.

Materials

  • Whiteboard or chalkboard
  • Writing materials (pencils, paper, etc.)
  • Examples of adjectives and opposites (e.g. big, small; happy, sad; hot, cold)

Warm-up

  • Ask students to share some examples of adjectives they can think of. Write their responses on the board.

Direct Instruction

  • Explain to students that adjectives are words that describe nouns.
