Topic: Nouns, Verbs and Letters in Arabic

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to identify and name nouns, verbs and letters in Arabic.

Materials:

• Alphabet cards with Arabic letters
• Images of nouns and verbs (e.g. a cat, a dog, a ball, a car)
• A whiteboard and markers

Warm-up

• Ask students if they can name any Arabic letters. Write the letters on the board and have students call out the letters they know.
• Ask students if they know what nouns and verbs are. Have them share their ideas and definitions.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the concept of nouns, verbs, and letters in Arabic. Show the letters and explain their names and sounds.
• Introduce the concept of nouns and verbs. Explain that nouns are words that name people, places, or things, and that verbs are words that tell us what people or things are doing.
• Show examples of nouns and verbs, and have students try to identify the nouns and verbs in the sentences.
• Introduce the concept of letter names and sounds. Review the names and sounds of the letters that were introduced earlier.

Guided Practice

• Have students work with a partner to identify the nouns and verbs in a series of sentences.
• Provide assistance as needed to help students identify the nouns and verbs.
• Have students practice writing some simple sentences using the letters and words that have been introduced.

Independent Practice

• Have students work on a project-based activity where they create their own short stories using the letters and words that have been introduced.
• Students can use the lined paper to write their stories, and the markers and stickers can be used to add illustrations and decorations to their stories.

Closure

• Have students share their completed stories with the class and explain the meaning of the words and letters that they used.
• Review the different types of words and letters that were introduced during the lesson and have students give examples of each.

Assessment

• Observe students during independent practice and give feedback on their use of words and letters in sentences.
• Collect and review students' completed worksheets to assess their understanding of the different types of words and letters.
