Objectives & Outcomes

  • Students will be able to identify the letter m and produce its corresponding sound.

Materials

  • Flashcards with the alphabet written on them
  • Pictures of objects that start with the letter m (such as a mouse, moon, or muffin)

Warm-up

  • Have students sit in a circle. Hold up a flashcard with the alphabet written on it and say the letters one by one, asking the students to raise their hands if they hear a certain letter. For example, "A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. Who can raise their hand and tell me what letter I just said?"

Direct Instruction
