Objectives & Outcomes

Materials

  • Pictures of the different parts of the body (e.g. head, mouth, throat, chest)
  • Song lyrics or lyrics to a lullaby

Warm-Up

  • Have students lie on their backs and stretch their arms above their heads. Ask them totic their fingers to the beat of a song.
  • Have students sit cross-legged and circle their thumbs and forefingers together to form a circle. Ask them to sing along to the circle-song.

  • Show the students how to use their diaphragm to breathe in and out while singing, and how to use their mouth and throat to create different sounds.

Guided Practice

  • Have the students take turns singing the song while the teacher helps with technique.
