The Nombres Froms 1 To 5 Lesson Plan for 1st Grade Students

Topic: counting small,homogenous and ordely quantities.

Objectives & Outcomes

  • At the end of this unit, the students will be able to count from 1 to 5 and identify the nombres for each number.

Materials

  • Picture cards with images of items that can be counted (e.g. animals, fruits, toys, etc.)
  • Cardboard boards for each student
  • Markers or crayons

Warm-up

  • Begin the lesson by asking the students to raise their hand if they can count to 5.
  • Ask a few students to show how they count to 5 and then write the numbers on the board.
  • Ask the students to count with you from 1 to 5, emphasizing the nombres for each number.

Direct Instruction

  • Show the students a small quantity of objects (e.g. marbles, beans, or pennies) and ask them to count the objects with you.
  • As they count, point to each number on the board and say the corresponding nombre.
  • Ask the students to repeat the nombres as you say them.
  • Once the students have mastered counting up to 5 with the objects, introduce a larger quantity of objects and ask them to count again, this time up to 10.

Guided Practice

  • Show the students a larger quantity of objects and ask them to count the objects with you.
  • As they count, point to each number on the board and say the corresponding nombre.
  • Ask the students to repeat the nombres as you say them.
  • Once the students have mastered counting up to 10 with the objects, introduce a still larger quantity of objects and continue practicing counting up to 10.

Independent Practice

  • Give each student a worksheet with a set of objects and have them count the objects to find out how many there are.
  • Have the students write the nombre for the number of objects they found on their worksheets.
  • Repeat this process with a variety of sets of objects.

Closure

  • Review the nombres from 1 to 5 with the students.
  • Ask the students to count and write the nombre for a small, homogenous and orderly quantity of objects.

Assessment

  • Observe the students while they are counting and writing the nombre.
  • Ask the students questions to assess their understanding of the concept of counting and their ability to use the nombres from 1 to 5.
  • Evaluate the student's written work for accuracy and comprehension.
