Topic: Breaking apart 10

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to break apart a 10-piece set using the correct technique.

Materials

• 10-piece set of blocks
• Marker and paper for each student

Warm-up

• Review what a 10-piece set is and what it is used for.
• Have students practice counting out loud to 10 using the blocks.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the word "break."
• Show students how to break apart a 10-piece set into individual blocks by pulling them apart at the seams.
