Topic: Prounce some letters are different

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to prounce letter sounds correctly.

Materials

• Alphabet cards
• A whiteboard and markers
• A computer with a microphone (optional)

Warm-up

• Ask students to say their alphabetical order quickly.
• Encourage them to pronounce the letters clearly.

Direct Instruction

• Show the letters on the flashcards and ask students to say them.
• If they have difficulty pronouncing a letter, help them to understand the proper way to say it.
• Have students repeat the letters after you.

Guided Practice

• Have students work in pairs and take turns saying the letters out loud.
• Have one student say the letters and the other student help them pronounce them correctly.
• Encourage students to help each other and provide feedback if needed.

Independent Practice

• Have students use the alphabet cards to create a word or phrase.
• Have students say the word or phrase out loud and check for pronunciation accuracy.
• Encourage students to help each other and provide feedback if needed.

Closure

• Review the letters and sounds we practiced today.
• Have students share one thing they learned about pronunciation.

Assessment

• Observe students during independent practice to confirm that they are accurately pronouncing the words they are writing.
• Collect and review the paragraphs students wrote during independent practice to assess their understanding of the concept of pronunciation.
