Topic: Learning about school supplies

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to identify and name different school supplies.
• Students will be able to use school supplies properly.

Materials

• Desk supplies (pen, pencil, pencil sharpener, eraser, paperclip, ruler)
• Classroom supplies (whiteboard markers, chalk, tape)
• School supplies worksheet (one per student)

Warm-up

• Show the class a few different school supplies and ask them to raise their hand if they know what it is. As they raise their hand, name the object and write it on the board.
• Next, have the students stand up and walk around the room while you call out different school supplies. As they reach the object, they should say what it is and take a quick look at it.

Direct Instruction

• Review the list of school supplies with the class, asking them to repeat each object after you say it.
• Show the class the different school supplies and have them identify each one by name.

Guided Practice

• Have the students work in pairs to take a walk around the classroom and find the different school supplies.
• As they find each object, have them say its name and put a check next to it on their worksheet.

Independent Practice

• Have the students create a collage using the different school supplies they found during the walk-around. Encourage them to be creative and use their imagination.

Closure

• Ask the students to share one thing they learned about school supplies during the activity.

Assessment

• Observe the students during the sorting activity and provide feedback on their ability to identify and sort the school supplies correctly.
• Collect the students' drawings and assess their ability to label the school supplies in Spanish.
