Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to draw and colour a bear picture

Materials

• Drawing paper
• Pencils
• Colouring pencils or markers
• A bear picture for reference (optional)

Warm-up

• Ask students if they have ever seen a bear before.
• Ask them to describe the bear to you.
• Ask them to draw a bear using their imagination.

Direct Instruction

• Explain to students that a bear is a type of animal that lives in the forest.
• Show students some pictures of bears and ask them to identify the different features of the bear, such as the ears, nose, mouth, and fur.
• Have students draw a bear using their imagination, based on the descriptions they gave earlier.

Guided Practice

• Have students use coloured pencils or markers to colour their bear drawings.
• Have students share their drawings with the class and explain their choices for the different features on their bear.

Independent Practice

• Have students choose a real-life object to draw, such as a book or a toy.
• Have students use the grid to draw their chosen object, paying attention to the details and proportions.
• Have students colour their drawings and add details with coloured pencils or markers.

Closure
