Free Daily Routine And Everyday Activities Lesson Plan for 12th Grade Students

Topic: Daily routine and everyday activities

Objectives & Outcomes

  • To understand and use adverbs of frequency to talk about routine daily activities.
  • To expand vocabulary by identifying and naming common everyday objects.

Materials

  • Everyday objects such as a toothbrush, pen, watch, shirt, etc.
  • List of adverbs of frequency such as "always", "often", "seldom", "never".
  • Writing materials such as paper and pen/pencil

Warm-up

  • Ask students to share what their daily routine is like. Ask them to think about things they always do, things they often do, things they seldom do, and things they never do. Write their responses on the board.
  • Next, ask students to help you put the adverbs of frequency in the correct order based on their meaning. "Always" is the strongest adverb of frequency and "never" is the weakest adverb of frequency.

Direct Instruction

  • Review the meaning of the adverbs of frequency with the class. Explain that these adverbs tell us how often something happens.
  • Next, introduce the vocabulary for everyday objects. Write the words on the board and discuss their meanings.
  • Finally, introduce the present tenses and explain their uses. Write the tenses on the board and give examples of how to use them.

Guided Practice

  • Divide the class into small groups and give each group a set of everyday objects.
  • Have the groups use the adverbs of frequency to talk about the objects in their groups and how often they use them.
  • Have each group present their conversation to the class.

Independent Practice

  • Have students create a poster or presentation about their daily routine at home and at the office.
  • Have them use the adverbs of frequency and present tenses (present simple) to describe their routine.
  • Encourage students to include as many everyday objects as possible in their presentations.

Closure

  • Review the adverbs of frequency and present tenses used in the lesson.
  • Have students share their posters or presentations with the class.

Assessment

  • Assess students' understanding of the lesson through participation in class activities, completion of the independent practice activity, and their ability to successfully use the present tenses and adverbs of frequency in their oral presentations or written reports.
