Objectives & Outcomes

• Understand the importance of symbols and signs in the story "Symbols and Signs" by Vladimir Nabokov.

Materials

• Copies of "Symbols and Signs" by Vladimir Nabokov
• Pen or pencil

Warm-Up

• Begin the lesson by asking students if they have heard of symbols or signs before. Ask them to share any experiences they have had with symbols or signs.
• Next, show students a few symbols or signs and ask them to describe what they think the symbols or signs represent.

Direct Instruction
