Objectives & Outcomes

• To improve the English communication skills of Chinese students through excercises in Advanced English Grammar, Vocabulary and Pronunciation.

Materials

• Copies of the text "Basic English Grammar" by J. A. Potter
• Grammar exercises handout
• Vocabulary excercises handout
• Pronunciation excercises handout

Warm-up

• Ask students to introduce themselves and tell a little about themselves.
• Have students do a partner activity where they introduce their partner to the class.
• Ask students to share the interesting or funny things they learned from their partner.
• Have a quick discussion about the importance of good communication skills in a globalizing world.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the topic of advanced English grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
• Explain the importance of these skills in academic and professional settings.
• Demonstrate how to use the handouts to practice different grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
• Go over the handouts as a class, making sure to provide feedback and explanation where necessary.
• Ask students to take notes on the new skills and concepts being presented.
