Topic: Riddles with songs

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to identify and structure riddles with songs and apply their understanding in creating their own riddles with songs.

Materials

• Riddles with song templates
• Music player
• Notepads and pens/pencils

Warm-up

• Ask the students to listen to a riddle with song and ask them to solve it. If they can't solve it, provide the answer.
• Ask the students to think of a riddle with song that they can share with the class. Write their ideas on the board.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the concept of riddles with songs to the students. Explain that riddles with songs are riddles that have a song attached to them.
• Give examples of riddles with songs and have the students try to solve them. As they are trying to solve the riddles, play the corresponding songs.
• Explain that the goal of riddles with songs is to find the solution to the riddle by listening to the song and thinking about the corresponding lyrics.

Guided Practice

• Give the students a worksheet with riddles with songs on it. Have them work in pairs or small groups to solve the riddles.
