Free Stem + Desarrollo Sostenible Ods Arduino Lesson Plan for 10th Grade Students

Topic: STEM + Desarrollo Sostenible ODS arduino

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will understand the importance of sustainable development and its relation to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
• Students will be able to design and develop an arduino project related to sustainable development.

Materials

• Arduino microcontroller
• Various sensors (e.g. temperature, light, acceleration)
• Various outputs (e.g. motors, leds, speakers)
• Arduino IDE
• Various cables and connectors
• Arduino example projects

Warm-up

• Have students work in pairs to complete a short questionnaire on their understanding of sustainable development.
• After a few minutes, have a few pairs share their answers with the class.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the concept of sustainable development and its importance in the 21st century.
• Discuss how the Arduino can be used in the field of sustainable development, and provide a few examples.
• Show the students how to set up the Arduino and load the code for the simple example project.

Guided Practice

• Have the students work in pairs to complete the example project. The instructor can circulate and assist as needed.

Independent Practice

• Have the students work on a project of their own choosing related to sustainable development. This could be a project related to one of the ODS or another topic of their choice.

Closure

• Have the students share their projects with the class and explain the steps they took and the challenges they faced.
• Review the objectives and key takeaways from the lesson.

Assessment:

• Observe the students during the guided and independent practice activities to assess their understanding of the material.
• Collect and review their arduino projects for completion and understanding of the material.
