Topic: SEXUAL HARRASSMENT

Objectives & Outcomes

• Students will be able to define sexual harassment and understand its different forms and consequences.

Materials

• Handout with definitions and examples of sexual harassment
• Poster board and markers
• Recording of a real-life instance of sexual harassment (optional)

Warm-up

• Ask students to share their understanding of sexual harassment.
• Write their responses on the board.
• Discuss the different definitions and their similarities and differences.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the topic of sexual harassment and provide a brief overview of its definition, prevalence, and consequences.
• Distribute the handout with the key points on sexual harassment.
• Have students read through the handout and discuss as a class.
• Emphasize the importance of understanding sexual harassment and its consequences.

Guided Practice

• Divide the class into small groups.
• Give each group a scenario involving sexual harassment and ask them to discuss how they would respond to the situation.
• Have each group share their responses with the class and discuss the different strategies for addressing sexual harassment.

Independent Practice

• Give each student a piece of paper and a pen.
• Ask them to think of a time when they have been sexually harassed or have witnessed sexual harassment.
• Have them write a short essay describing the harassment and their reaction to it.

Closure

• Have students share their essays with the class.
• Ask them to discuss what they learned about sexual harassment and how to respond to it.

• Observe their participation in the discussion and their participation in the skit or video presentation.
