  • Emphasize the importance of active listening in communicating effectively and building positive relationships.

Guided Practice

  • Divide the class into small groups and give each group a topic to discuss, such as a current event or a problem they are facing.
  • Have each group use active listening techniques while they discuss the topic, and have the rest of the class serve as the listeners and provide feedback on how well the group is employing active listening techniques.
  • Continue with additional topics and groups until the class has practiced active listening in a realistic setting.

Independent Practice

  • Have students work on a project-based assignment, such as creating a presentation on a topic or solving a problem.
  • Encourage students to use active listening techniques while they work on their projects, and have the rest of the class serve as the listeners and provide feedback on how well the students are employing active listening techniques.
