Warm-up

• Ask students if they know what the present continuous is and what it is used for.
• Explain that the present continuous is used to talk about ongoing actions or events in the present time.

Direct Instruction

• Write the word "present" on the board and ask students to explain what it means.
• Write the word "continuous" on the board and ask students to explain what it means.
• Explain that the present continuous is used to talk about ongoing actions or events in the present time.
• Use examples to illustrate the present continuous, such as: "I am playing video games right now." or "She is studying for the test today."

Guided Practice:
