Free Technological Tools Lesson Plan for 10th Grade Students

Topic: Technological tools

Objectives & Outcomes

• By the end of this lesson, students will be able to write descriptive paragraphs about technological devices that they use on a daily basis.

Materials

• Examples of technological devices (e.g. cell phone, computer, microwave, etc.)
• Writing materials (pen/pencil and paper)

Warm-up

• Have students draw a picture of a technological device on the board. Then, have them share with the class what they drew and why they chose to draw that particular device. This will encourage them to think about the features and functions of the device.

Direct Instruction

• Introduce the concept of descriptive writing and its purpose of giving readers a vivid and detailed picture of a subject.
• Using the technological devices as an example, demonstrate how to use adjectives and adverbs to describe the features and functions of a device.
• Emphasize the importance of using precise and accurate language in descriptive writing.

Guided Practice

• Have students work in pairs to describe a technological device that they use on a daily basis.
• Provide assistance and feedback as needed.

Independent Practice

• Have students choose a different technological device to describe, and create a presentation or written description to share with the class.
• Encourage students to be creative and use visual elements (such as images and/or video) in their presentations.

Closure

• Review the main points of the lesson with the students.
• Have students share their presentations with the class, and ask them to discuss the various features and functions of the chosen device.

Assessment

• Observe students during the independent practice activity and provide feedback on their use of the target language and their presentation skills.
• Collect and review the written paragraphs that the students create as their final assessment of the lesson.
