Objectives & Outcomes

• By the end of this lesson, students will be able to use proper vocabulary when speaking about music.

Materials

• Music player with a variety of songs
• Vocabulary list of music-related words
• Writing paper and pen

Warm-up

• Ask students to listen to a song and write down the name of the artist and the song title.
• Discuss the meanings of these terms and how they are used in everyday communication.

Direct Instruction

• Play a short clip of music and ask students to identify the artist and the song title.
• Have the students look up the meanings of any unfamiliar words.
• Have the students practice using the appropriate vocabulary in speaking about music.

Guided Practice

• Play another short clip of music and have the students work in small groups to identify the artist and the song title.
• Have the students share their answers with the class and explain their reasoning.

Independent Practice

• Have the students choose a artist or a song that they are familiar with and create a presentation about it.
• students can present their findings to the class using a variety of methods, such as posters, brochures, or videos.

Closure
